The Campus Ministry Intern-ship Program had its begin-nings here in Atlanta in 2006, when Tom Brown moved from California to be the lead evangelist of the North River Church of Christ. With Tom as the visionary, and the newly-conceived Internship Program as his brain child, we got to work...
In 2006 we conducted a six-week program consisting of about 40 students, mostly from the Atlanta area. We focused on having bible studies and practical ministry classes on campuses such as G The Internship Program has grown each year; with 2010 being our largest ever with more than 125 participants from all over the country! As the program has evolved, we have shortened it to make it accessible for more students, in order that we might meet even more spiritual needs. We are excited about how God continues to use this program to teach, inspire, and equip the next generation for His glory!

S.W.A.T.—Spiritual Weapons And Training The “S.W.A.T.” team of the 2007 Internship Program was one of the most incredible experiences of my Christian life. It was a group of 3 guys (Handly Eugene, Jon Sherwood and myself) who traveled to different cities and campuses around the Southeast, to encourage existing ministries, share our faith, and dream for places that currently lacked ministries. One such place was Clemson University. Before the Clemson Foothills Church(clemsonfoothillschurch.com), was even an idea we spent a few hours in prayer walking around the football field and dreaming for all the things that God wanted to accomplish there. It was incredible to hear about the church planting that happened almost two years later! We realized God heard our prayers and blessed our dreams of His glory and love being spread! God desires to do great things on your campus and in your life also! My prayer is that we don’t stand in the way of His plans for us and those around us, but that we possess the faith to see His dreams come true through us.
Brandon Keen 2006—Chidiya Ohiagu It all began on a hot and humid summer day in May of 2006. I was a young college student from Nigeria and was walking back to my apartment after a hard day’s work in the computer lab at Kennesaw State University. As I walked up the pavement that led to the dorms, I was accosted by two men who looked like angels and invited me to do a bible study. I would later realize that they were both regular guys like me, but the bible study they shared with me was truly out of this world and changed the way I would live from that day forth. I was shy, introverted, focused on being the “good guy”, and living my life with a “me and God” mentality. We studied the bible for about a month, talking about what I needed to do according to the Scriptures to be right with God, and in the first week of June (06/06/06), I was bap-tized into Christ at the Internship Program. God has since formed me into a different man due to His Spirit and the first summer Internship Program. I would not likely be a true disciple or have been able to study the Bible with so many students at KSU over the past 4 years if it were not for Teregi Coleman and Jake Ostrowski follow-ing their Lord and sharing their faith with me during the Internship Program. For that I am extremely grateful! Never underestimate how God can use you! He can do exceedingly and abundantly more than we can ever ask or think! We have begun the journey with Jesus, now we must FINISH!

In May of 2007, I walked into a classroom on campus because I smelled some food, and little did I know that the people there were part of the Internship Program. That one, chance meeting turned into a rapid life change for me! I met the group on June 1st, was called on the phone by a disciple on June 2nd, went to church on June 3rd, and started studying the Bible that Tues-day June 5th. About 3 weeks later on June 28, I was baptized into Christ! Ever since, I have been loving God and following His Son Jesus, trying to help people on campus and in my community do the same! I am so thankful for things like the Internship Program that help to equip and prepare young people to effectively spread the love of God and the power of the gospel to others!

"Charting the Course of my Life" A little over two years ago I thought; “I have a talent in speaking, I can communicate fairly effectively, and life is about using your skills, chasing your pas-sions and turning that into a career, right?” I even dreamed of being a commentator for the New York Giants or the Los Angeles Lakers. However; God had a different plan for me and I started working as a campus ministry Intern in Athens, GA. The church there sponsored me so I could participate in the Internship Program in 2008, and that was a turning point for me. It was then that I realized the gifts God has given me should be used for a higher purpose. The leadership training I have received through the Internship Programs has given me the conviction that my life can influence people around the world for generations to come! I currently serve the campus ministry full-time in Savannah and have realized that I feel more fulfilled now than I ever would have been in broadcasting. The steps the Lord has determined and marked out for me are exciting; and though it’s not easy, it is worth every minute!
